The 36 Days of Type project is an annual open call to designers to craft a typeface for the Latin alphabet, often around a specific concept. For 2021, I joined in with a typeface based on my own idiolect, or individual accent. Each letter and number in the set is composed of the International Phonetic Alphabet symbols used to signify how I personally pronounce the name of the character. This concept made for a unique challenge, with letters of note being Z (as I pronounce it in two different ways, [zɛd] and [zi]) and W (whose length prompted a unique composition).
